The Conventual Franciscans of Our Lady of Consolation welcome you to our Hope & Healing Masses in 2024.
All Masses are on Saturdays at 11:00am in the Upper Basilica.
Following the homily, those who wish to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will have the opportunity to come forward and be anointed by one of the priest faiars.
At the end of Mass, all present are invited to come forward for an individual blessing with the Relic of the True Cross.
On May 4, in accordance no. 66 of The Enchiridion of Indulgences, the faithful, having fulfilled the usual conditions of sacramental confession, reception of Holy Communion, and prayers for the intention of the Holy Father, may receive a plenary indulgence by visiting one of the original three altars in the Upper Basilica and reciting an Our Father and the Creed. The original three altars were consecrated on May 4, 1930 by then-Bishop Samuel Stritch.
Reminder that all can receive a plenary indulgence each year on the day of their choosing by visiting the basilica and participating in any sacred rite or reciting the Our Father and the Creed. More information on Plenary Indulgences can be found here - Responsibilities and Privileges of Basilicas.
