In Paradisum Choir – NEW in 2025!
The In Paradisum Choir takes its name from the text of the final commendation prayer at funerals (In paradisum deducant te angeli // “May the angels lead you into paradise”). This choir will minister to the bereaved of our Parish and fulfill the spiritual work of mercy of praying for the living and the dead by singing for funerals and our annual Parish Memorial Mass. Membership is open to all. This choir is a great opportunity for those who are retired or semi-retired since funerals fall during normal business hours.
The Assumption Choir leads the music at the Shrine Park for the Mass on the Vigil of the Assumption each year on August 14. This choir is open to all junior high school age and older and usually numbers between 50 and 60 singers from all over our diocese and beyond! In 2024 and 2025, we had members from the Dioceses of Toledo, Columbus, and Cleveland! This choir is a wonderful opportunity to sing a wide range of repertoire with a very short time commitment. Rehearsals begin three Sundays prior to Assumption from 4:00-5:45pm in the Original Shrine Church.
In 2026, the Assumption Choir’s rehearsals are: July 26, August 2, and August 9. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required!

Rehearsals are held on Sundays beginning with the Sunday prior to Ash Wednesday from 1:00-2:30pm in the choir loft. Space is limited to 45 singers. In 2026, the first rehearsal is on February 15.
