Dear Friars,
A few years ago a woman was taken ill with severe extremely painful attach of rheumatic fever, which was very serious. The disease left her crippled. Medicines and treatments did not seem to help her at all. For several years she was forced into a wheel chair and used crutches.
Having been told of an account of the Pilgrimages to Carey, she was filled with confidence and promised Our Lady of Consolation she would have Masses celebrated in her honor if she could get better. She began to recover, and at long last was able to walk with the aid of crutches.
She visited the Shrine where she left her crutches along with a statement of her cure.
