A grandchild went suddenly into a decline.

It had been a lively, healthy baby, but without explainable cause it seemed to become blighted; it lost interest in its surroundings, it grew daily thinner and thinner until it seemed it could not live.

The grandfather, having come on a visit, at once advised the parents to vow a pilgrimage to Carey, Ohio and to promise to have a Mass read there.  This they promised and the next day, the child suddenly revived, became playful and returned to a normal condition.  The parents brought the child with them on their pilgrimage.  It was a healthy baby.
