Healing Mass & Saint Francis Day

The Conventual Franciscan Friars invite all to the Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation to celebrate their order’s patron: Saint Francis of Assisi. This year, Saint Francis’s feast day coincides with our final Hope & Healing Mass of 2025.
October 3 – The Transitus of Saint Francis

On Friday, October 3 at 7:00pm, we celebrate the transitus or the passing of Francis from this life to eternal life. This moving liturgy—marked with prayer, song, scripture, and writings of Saint Francis himself—will be celebrated in the Original Shrine Church. The Transitus devotion lasts approximately 45 minutes. A reception, hosted by the Secular Franciscans, will follow the Transitus in the OLC Office Building. |
