Ecumenical Christmas Choir Forming!
The Carey Ecumenical Choir, a large community choir open to all singers high school age and older, is forming again next month in preparation for its 51st annual Christmas concert. Under the direction of Mr. Anthony Gallina, the Director of Music Ministries at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, the Carey Ecumenical Choir will present a concert of sacred Advent and Christmas music at the Basilica in Carey. Formed in 1971, the Choir has brought together singers and concertgoers each year since, with the exception of a three year hiatus from 2020-2022.
This year’s concert is on Sunday, December 14 at 4:00pm. Singers from all over northwest and north central Ohio are encouraged to join the volunteer ensemble.
The first rehearsal is on Thursday, October 23 from 7:00-9:00pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Carey. Remaining rehearsals are October 28, November 6, November 11, November 20, November 25, December 4, December 9, and December 11 Singers are asked to attend a majority of rehearsals.
