Mass for the Care of Creation

The Conventual Franciscan Friars of Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation will celebrate the newly promulgated Mass for the Care of Creation on Monday, September 28 at 11:00am in the Original Shrine Church.

All are invited to come and pray for a greater respect of the earth God has given to us. During this Season of Creation, held annually from September 1 through the feast day of our Holy Father Saint Francis on October 4, we pray these words found in his Canticle of Creatures:

Praised be you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains us and directs us bringing forth all kinds of fruits and colored flowers and herbs.
